A very basic document in a democratic set up is Voter Id card.
However , we see that there are several movement of people across the country and our country keeps voting, so it is fairly understood that the need for transferring the voter id card to relevant constituency need to be swift and prompt.
I moved from one place to another and had raised online request to transfer my voter id card accordingly.
Process is very simple download the voter helpline app or go to the voter id portal and fill up form 8 and wait for the voter id card transferred and come it to your house.
There can be series of hiccups due to lack of knowledge among the officials of Election Commission or even at times mindset to not support and help people do the needful and for that you can raise grievance here.
I also faced same issues and created complaints on daily basis to see if that works.
After all we are Tech Advanced Nation by now.
So watch below the complaints i kept creating to get this done. they used to deliberately mark resolved by putting comments like : Aadhar is not valid address proof, come for court hearing call, person not available at address , sorry, see as previous comment. I mean can you imagine.
I provided all necessary document and submitted form 8 online as per process and the nonsense had not end it seemed.
One more thing probably their app has some glitch or loophole , i was not able to reopen the complaints marked as resolve it used to give some error like failed to fetch blah blah blah. Anyways i kept creating complaints daily.
Right now count of Grievance logged is around 900+ , lets see when the work gets done.
After all I believe in Democracy.
